Purpose of the Portal

The portal is aimed at creating an attractive and comfortable means of presentation of the Programme of the Millennium to the society of Lithuania as well as the whole world with the help of which people would be able to find out all information on the events of the Programme and supplement it with their own initiatives, estimations and reviews; spreading the good news among society. It is a universal tool which allows presenting all events important to Lithuania.

Objectives

The Millennium Portal must include all major aspects of the Programme and must be adjusted for the presentation of other magnificent events of Lithuania simply by incorporating a new content.

A virtual instrument for the presentation of Millennium Programme which:

  • would comprehensively present the Millennium of Lithuania and the Programme for its commemoration;
  • would comprehensively present all events related to the Commemoration of the Millennium taking place in Lithuania and abroad;
  • would compile a comprehensive data base of all events and initiatives related to the Commemoration of the Millennium;
  • would allow a registered subject to propose new initiatives;
  • would allow to register Lithuanian emigrants and their initiatives all over the world;
  • would allow to organize and form monthly summaries of the most important events, initiatives and events taking place in cities, counties and municipalities easily.
